Bishop’s Council is the standing committee for the Diocesan Synod and its members are directors of the Worcester Diocesan Board of Finance (WDBF) Limited Company.
The roles of Bishop's Council include:
- To advise the Bishop
- To plan the business of Synod and set its agenda
- To advise Synod on matters of policy and forward planning
- To advise Synod on the resources available and recommend a budget for the WDBF
Members of the Bishop’s Council are; The Bishops of Worcester and Dudley, the Archdeacons, the Dean, the Chair of the Board of Finance, the Honorary Diocesan Treasurer, Chairs of the five boards established by Synod and a further six clergy and eight lay people elected from the members of the Diocesan Synod.
