Statements of Significance and Need - what you need to know

Church Buildings Officer, Mark Carter, will explore how to work out what changes you need to make to your church and how to justify them.

All major building and redevelopment projects on churches require the PCC to justify the need for them, whether for to the community, to funders or to obtain statutory permissions.  When dealing with a listed church, there also needs to be an assessment on the impact of the works to the building’s heritage and significance. Mark will run through how to complete these documents – the Statement of Significance and the Statement of Need.
