FCiLL Life Events Diary Training Part 2
I'm Rev Rich Hackett and came into ministry following a nearly 20 year career in IT, working for Cadbury's and it's parent company. One of the great challenges I face, having 3 churches, 2 LLM with permission to conduct funerals, is how do I keep track of my occasional offices? The baptism, weddings and funerals? How do we keep their data secure, but be able to contact them individually, or as a group? Wouldn't it be great if we could have a central calendar which told us where we're supposed to be?
The simple answer is Life Events Diary, a free tool, funded by the national church to make parish life easier. The tool provides a single, secure location for holding all of our occasional office information.
On the first training course we will look at what the tool is, how it can be used to make parish life easier, how do we capture the information, and get things into the central calendar, and how do we find it again when we need to contact them.
The second session, will be a quick recap, and some deeper configuration to help you personalize the system, different roles e.g treasurer, and how the communication tool works.
To make the most of this training, please make sure that your church / parish has signed up to the Life Events Diary and that you have access. To register please follow the link, select your Diocese, Deanery, and search for your church. https://lifeeventsdiary.org/register
