More than hymns: animating Worship with Music

Date and Time :
5th June 2023 - 7:30pm - 9:00pm

A workshop evening led by Archdeacon Robert Jones. This training is intended especially for ALM Worship Leaders.

Music helps bring worship to life through human skill and the work of God’s Spirit. People attribute to St Augustine the words “The person who sings, prays twice.” Although that exact phrase is hard to find in his many writings, the sentiment is certainly there.

In this evening workshop, Archdeacon Robert Jones will help us explore some of the many different ways we can use music in our worship, beyond simply putting hymns into our services. This will include a number of musical traditions from around the world church.

As well as being an experienced parish priest, Robert has co-ordinated and led worship for the assembled bishops of the Anglican Communion on more than one occasion, and is himself an accomplished musician.

And all on what we hope will be a pleasant summer evening in the glorious Worcestershire countryside.

This event will be held at St Cassian’s Church, Chaddesley Corbett, Kidderminster, DY10 4SD
