Annual Weekend for Licensed Lay Ministers (Readers)
We are delighted to welcome Dr Lindsey Hall to Holland House to lead our annual Reader weekend this year.
The weekend will focus on an exploration of Luke’s Gospel, particularly noting the theme of joy throughout the Gospel. We will engage with the scripture through worship, reading, reflecting and asking what it means for us as disciples and as preachers. We will look at some of the well know texts of Luke as well as exploring some of the texts that don’t appear in the lectionary, and ask what we can learn through them.
Until the end of last year, Dr Lindsey Hall was working for Lichfield Diocese and has been involved in a range of teaching, training and development for ministry. Before she moved to Lichfield Diocese she taught theology in universities including King’s College London and Trinity College Dublin. Lindsey trained as a preacher in the Methodist church and is passionate about the Gospels and flourishing discipleship.
A full programme and booking forms for the weekend will be available shortly.
The Friday evening will be dedicated to the Annual Meeting before we enter into a time of reflection and study with Lindsey. There will be free time, especially on the Saturday evening when we hope to have some fun and homegrown entertainment.
We are also delighted that Bishop Martin will be able to join us on Sunday to lead our closing Eucharist and join us for lunch before we depart.
Please put the date in your diary now as we look forward to engaging with Luke: The Gospel of Joy
