The session will be designed with clergy particularly in mind, and may also be relevant to others, who will be more than welcome.

What’s it about?

Working well with other church members, who are not paid for what they do, is an important, rich, and sometimes complex aspect of ministry. This morning session includes input on several different angles of what's involved, with plenty of chance for discussion and questions. The morning will include input from Jo Hyrons, Diocesan HR Coordinator and Alison Maddocks, Dean of Smaller Churches.

Topics covered will include:

• Spot the difference – what's different about working with volunteers?
• Good practice on recruitment and induction
• The needs of the person and the needs of the role
• 'Volunteering' and vocation
