DBE: Overview of Governance in a Church School

This course is mandatory for foundation governors who are new or have been reappointed to a church school, and encouraged for those who wish to refresh their knowledge and understanding.

This training session will address the following key areas:

• statutory responsibilities and core function of governance
• a history of church schools and how context is key
• Church of England and national developments in education
• the role of a school governor
• the responsibilities of a foundation governor
• SIAMS church school inspection: increase your understanding and discover how to strengthen
• your role in this process.

Maintained Schools session is at 5pm - 6.30pm

Trust School session is at 7pm - 8.30pm
