Empowering pupils to challenge the injustice that they see is an important aspect of enabling children to flourish in school. SIAMS asks us how well the school’s Christian vision creates an active culture of justice and responsibility. But what do we mean by justice and how do we empower pupils and adults to make a difference in our world?
This course will look at what we mean by biblical justice. We will also look at how SIAMS inspection question 5 explores the culture of justice in schools.
This session aims to:
- develop an understanding of biblical justice and its impact on society
- explore how we might begin to create a culture of justice
- understand how this fits in an educational and theological context
- look at how we might challenge injustice both in and out of school
- understand how children can be empowered to challenge injustice locally, nationally and globally.
