DBE: Worldviews and Racial Equity within RE

This course is designed to help teachers of RE plan and provide excellent learning in the classroom that encourages pupils to learn about different religions and beliefs. We will consider how we challenge racism and prejudice in order to promote the wellbeing of all in our richly plural communities.

In this course we will:

• consider what is meant by ‘worldviews of RE’
• reflect on different worldviews pertaining to RE
• discuss how worldviews fit within the wider RE curriculum
• explore effective teaching and learning of worldviews and consider how our own views may impact on the way that we teach RE in the classroom.
