DBE: Overview of Governance in a Church School - Academy

Suitable for governors who are either new to a church school, or who wish to refresh their knowledge and understanding, this training session will address the following key areas:

• statutory responsibilities and core function of governance
• church schools
• Church of England developments in education
• the role of a school governor
• the responsibilities of a foundation governor
• SIAMS church school inspection: increase your understanding and discover how to strengthen your role in this process.

The Department for Education (DfE) has published 2 new governance guides to replace the Governance Handbook 2019. To reflect this change we now offer two different sessions for this training appropriate to the different types of schools.
