DBE: Newly Appointed Headteachers Welcome Day 2

This 2 day course welcomes new headteachers into our family of church schools and provides the opportunities for personal and professional networking, whilst covering the following topics over the 2 days:

• history of church schools
• church schools in The Diocese of Worcester
• category of a church school
• overview of being a church school from a SIAMS perspective
• The Diocesan Education Team and services provided
• the role of the Diocesan Board of Education
• new headteacher mentoring
• leadership: forming and sharing the school vision
• vision into values: making your church school distinctive
• understanding relationships of key partnerships
• governance of church schools
• sustainability of church schools
• church school land and buildings
• mentor links
• academisation
• NPQs.

We conclude Day 2 with a Commissioning Service welcoming headteachers to our church school family. You are welcome to invite a family guest to this service and also to extend the invitation to your Chair of Governors.
