Ministry Experience Scheme

Due to financial pressures, the Ministry Experience Scheme is currently suspended. What follows below is our vision for the scheme and glimpses into the experiences of those who participated in it had.

If you are interested in such a scheme, please contact the Director of Ordinands and Vocation, Revd Dr John Fitzmaurice

If you are aged 18 to 30, and are looking for a year-long opportunity to explore what God is calling you to, then join The Ministry Experience Scheme.

An opportunity to discern God’s call, whilst rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into real-life Christian ministry in a range of the contexts around the diocese urban, suburban and rural.

Mentored and supported by supervisors, vocation advisors, local clergy and lay people, all keen to encourage and welcome you, the scheme runs from September-June, is non-residential, involves time for some study, practical ministry experience and personal development and vocational discernment opportunities, for 18-30yr olds, keen to explore who and what God is calling them to be and do, (including, but not exclusively, those interested in exploring a call to the ordained ministry).

Younger women and those from ethnic minority heritages are currently unrepresented in the Church of England and are particularly welcome to apply to the scheme.

The scheme is running as part of the Church of England national Ministry Experience Scheme.

How do I get involved?

If you would like further information then please contact Sarah Fenby 01905 730733; 07943 051056, for more details, and to receive an application form. All enquirers are welcome, and you can apply to any diocese offering the scheme no matter where you currently live.

The Ministry Experience Scheme is supported by Allchurches Trust.
