A group of three churches in Worcester who work closely together, Claines Church, St Stephen’s church in Worcester and St George’s church in Barbourne have recently appointed Nathaniel Glover (aka ‘Nate’) to be their new Children, Youth and Families minister, funded through the Healthier Churches Fund.

Nate started mid-August 2026 and is settling in well to the role, working to encourage, co-ordinate and support the efforts of volunteers across all three churches.

Nate Glover

Nate is married to Rebecca Glover who has been working in the diocesan Communications team since March 2026 as Digital Media Advisor. They recently celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary, and they have a one-year-old daughter together. Following Nate’s appointment, they are in the process of moving from Cradley Heath to Worcester, where Rebecca grew up, though Nate is from Loughborough originally. Nate says: “I like Worcester and it feels familiar in a way. It’s about the same size and has a similar vibe to Loughborough.”

Nate has moved around in his career, with some of his early jobs tending towards his passions, for example for cars. However, Nate studied for a degree in Youth Work at CYM which involved placements at two churches, one in Leicester and one in Rugby and his most recent work has focussed on his calling to youth ministry, with roles at Youth for Christ and working as a Children and Youth Missioner for Diocese of Birmingham, across 7 churches in the South Birmingham area.

Nate feels he is settling in well to this new role and he is getting to know the congregations and volunteers at all three churches. Activities for children and young people that take place at any of the churches welcome families and young people from across all three parishes, rather than individual congregations. There is already some good provision in place with ‘Bubble church’ the monthly worship for families taking place at Claines church with 8 regular families. Nate has also helped two previous toddler groups relaunch in this new season and has been pleased to see volunteers feeling more confident about taking the lead on these. With much on offer for families, Nate is now focusing his attention on youth work and is in conversation with interested members of the congregations as to how to get this going.

Nate says:

“I’ve always loved being involved in youth ministry and whilst helping out at my home church (Elim Loughborough), the pastor there said ‘I think God’s got something for you in youth ministry’. I love seeing young people grow spiritually and in terms of who they are, so I feel called to roles that can help provide that space for them.”

Please pray for Nate as he settles into Worcester and this new role.
