Rebecca is Canon Chancellor and Director of Learning and Participation at Gloucester Cathedral. She has a lifelong passion for music and holds a doctorate in historical musicology, awarded by King’s College London for a thesis on theological approaches to the music of JS Bach. She says “Drawing on musicological study and experience as a priest I will argue that we can and must go beyond metaphor and analogy into a way of understanding music’s power as invitation into a drama, one which opens up to us the mystery of God’s love. She is uniquely qualified to talk to us about Music and Theology. This really should be a fascinating talk and I do hope you will be able to make it. Drinks and nibbles from 7:00 pm.
