This is firstly for new ALMs, but is open to existing ALMs and anyone else who is interested. (New ALMs are asked to complete sessions on the Bible, the Creeds, and Spirituality after they’re authorised, and this is the session on the Bible.)
In this session we will explore what it means to do theology together as we try to work out where God is at work in the world and how we join in. We will explore how the Creeds offer us a framework for doing that, take a brief overview of the history of the creeds, and explore a method for doing practical theology, which is a lot of what all ministers, lay and ordained do as they think about their practice.
There is more space in the morning session for questions and discussion, but the online evening session is kept within a fairly tight 90 minute time limit.
The sessions are led by Doug Chaplin, Discipleship and Lay Training Officer.
