Assessing pupils at greater depth in RE can be a challenging undertaking. Pupils at greater depth in RE will demonstrate a key grasp of religious and non-religious knowledge across a range of worldviews. The multi-disciplinary approach to RE, using the lenses of theology, human and social science and philosophy provide a useful tool to support the delivery of content and provide pupils with the opportunity to work at a greater depth.
In this course we will:
- explore what is meant by greater depth in RE
- look at criteria for assessing greater depth in RE
- look at examples or pupils’ responses at greater depth, compared with the expected standard
- look at how the multi-disciplinary approach can support greater depth.
