Tin anniversary for Singing Angels
A new singing group for children will launch at St Peter’s Centre at Pedmore Church on 15 November, 10 years after Singing Angels originally began at St Andrew’s Church on the Straits.
The Muslim-Christian dialogue group in Lye, Stourbridge, arranged a litter pick on 31 October to clear up two local streets.
The group went up and down Valley and Vicarage Roads in Lye, collecting a pile of litter that would fill an estimated 28 bags.

Once the job was done, they all enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee from the back of the vicar’s car!
The Muslim-Christian dialogue group has been active in Lye for many years, and offers a friendly space for the different faith groups to meet and discuss their beliefs, as well as cross cultural barriers to make friends with people who may not naturally meet.
The local Council supplied the equipment to do the picking, and later collected the waste from the agreed drop-off spot.
Glen Ruffle, Vicar of Christ Church in Lye said:
“We wanted to bring the Mosque and Church together to help people make friends across divides, as well as bless the local community. We worked together to collect a lot of rubbish and then celebrated with a warm tea and coffee. Already people are talking of another future project together!”
