Retired clergy Candlemas lunch

Retired clergy sitting around tables enjoying lunch in the great hall at the Old Palace in WorcesterFifty retired clergy and clergy partners enjoyed a Candlemas lunch on Thursday 30 January in the Old Palace, Worcester.

Bishop Martin welcomed those attending and thanked them for their ministry - for all they have given and continue to give, recognising their very significant contribution to the life of the Diocese.

Ann Waizeneker and Guy Hewlett, co-deans for retired clergy and partners, were delighted to see so many at the lunch and commented: “The Old Palace is a wonderful setting for this annual gathering, where old friendships are renewed and new ones made.  There was a lovely warm atmosphere and it is so good to get together with others at various stages of retirement.”
