Starting on Ascension Day (9 May) and running until Pentecost om 19 May is Thy Kingdom Come.
Established in 2016, Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.
From small beginnings, the movement has grown to unite more than a million Christians in prayer, in nearly 90% of countries worldwide, across 85 different denominations and traditions. During the 11-day period everyone is encouraged to pray in their own way, as individuals, households, and churches.
One of the key invitations during this time is to pray that God’s Spirit might work in the lives of five people who have not yet responded with their ‘Yes’ to God’s call. Thy Kingdom Come also offers the opportunity to deepen our own prayer life and to ask for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Alongside personal prayer, many churches and groups will run services and events both in-person and online
where we can join with others to pray for God’s Kingdom.
This year, young people are encouraged to join together to unit in a single purpose - praying the prayer that Jesus taught us with one voice on Pentecost Sunday, 19 May between 5 and 6pm.
