About Emma Pettifer

As Children’s Officer, my passion is to see Children and families explore their faith more in fun inspired ways and be excited by the unconditional love God has for them. I am here to inspire and support parishes in this ministry helping parishes to develop the children’s work and provide more for the family as a whole, in church and at home, through training and networking with volunteers and employed workers. I am happy to come and visit your parish, lead a session in children’s group, support your teams, resource your groups and team, help your children’s groups have fresh look at what more could be done, speak in your church.

Another part of my role is working with Parishes make links with their local schools providing resources and experiences for schools through, prayer space, Godly Play, collective worship and Open the Book.

We also have Children’s Council, school years 3 – 9, this is a council that is set up from children around the diocese who discuss many issues and explore their own faith as well as have fun and raise money for lots of different charities.

I moved to Worcester in 2009, after spending 9 years in various Church of England churches as their Children’s and Youth worker. My husband, Chris and I have two energetic daughters who love the outdoors, cycling, climbing trees and walking. We are members of National Trust and love exploring all the places around this area and wider taking picnics and having lots of fun and laughter.  I love gardening, swimming, sewing, and entertaining and do as much of each as I can!

We moved from London to Worcester but originally, I come from Aberdeen, Scotland where majority of my family still are. We visit as often as we can.
