Holy Trinity Church in Amblecote has started a new monthly gathering for children and their families on Sunday afternoons. Called 'the Ark', they now have a small, but growing group who join them regularly.
Congregation member, Helen Shakespeare explains:
"After Covid, our toddler group folded for various reasons, so earlier this year, our Churchwarden Jane and I decided to take an Easter goody bag to the homes of families who’d had children baptised in the last two years, inviting them to a gathering in April.
Six families turned up and since then, they've been joining us for regular monthly meetings on a Sunday afternoon. We have called it “The Ark” as it is their safe space to be themselves and to have fun, sing, pray and have tea and cake (of course!).
One family have already brought another family with them, so we are hoping it will grow by word of mouth and social media."
