All Saints Sedgley welcomes Ted the pony and 90 people on Palm Sunday

Ted the ponyAll Saints church in Sedgley celebrated Palm Sunday with Ted the pony leading the procession and around 90 people of all ages in church.

All Saints is one of our renewal projects, looking to grow the congregation and particularly make services family-friendly and suitable for all ages.

Renewal Leader Diane Cooksey said:

“We had a great service for Palm Sunday! It was good to welcome some of our baptism and toddler group families. It was lovely and very encouraging to have so many families in church.”

"We met in the hall first for some refreshments and crafts which included making a foam donkey and decorating a palm leaf, then Ted the pony from Breathing Spaces Therapeutic Services led the procession from the church hall over to the church. The service included something for everyone including holding our palm crosses in various positions as part of the prayers.”

“Our family services are the best attended and this is encouraging us to try new things!”

Franciscan Peace Pilgrimage

19th May 2026

2026 is 800 years since the death of St Francis. To mark this anniversary, Franciscans are planning a pilgrimage which will begin in Almouth and finish in London, visiting all the Franciscan houses - it will come through our diocese in August and they'd love people to join them!
