Lambeth Conference

Published: 5th July 2022

Bishops at a previous Lambeth conferenceAssembled by Archbishop Justin, the Lambeth Conference, an international meeting of Anglican bishops, is taking place at locations around Kent, as well as at Lambeth Palace, from 25 July until 8 August.

The conference theme is ‘God’s Church for God’s World - walking, listening and witnessing together’ with an exploration of what it means for the Anglican Communion to be responsive to the needs of a 21st Century world. The theme was inspired by the book of 1 Peter with the Conference discussing church and world affairs.

Through prayer, Bible study, fellowship and discussion, the Conference community explored what it means for the Anglican Communion to
be responsive to the needs of our 21st Century world.

Prayer for the Lambeth conference:

Loving God, look with mercy on your world and the many challenges we face - through environmental crisis, poverty and hurt. Make your church a sign of hope that we may bring your peace and justice to the world. And bound together by your love, may the churches of the Anglican Communion show people Jesus. Amen
