Canon Harold Goddard – RIP

Canon Harold GoddardSadly, Canon Harold Goddard was found dead in his home in Malvern on Wednesday.

Most recently Honorary Curate of Christ Church in Malvern, where he led the church after his retirement, Harold had served in the Diocese of Worcester since 1976. He was vicar of a number of different churches during that time as well as being Rural Dean of Martley and Worcester West and Evesham. For some years he was a member of the DAC and for part of his time its Vice-Chair

Harold was also Chaplain to St Richards Hospice and Worcestershire Community Healthcare Trust, was an Honorary Canon of Worcester Cathedral and in retirement was Chaplain to the Mothers’ Union.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

A Thanksgiving Service for Harold Goddard is to be held at Worcester Cathedral on Friday 8 July, 2pm followed by refreshments at Worcestershire Cricket Club, New Road. There is no dress code, but a splash of colour is encouraged to match Harold's personality. Any donations will go towards the roof repairs and upkeep of the Cathedral and can be sent to FW Spilsbury, 12 Upper Howsell Road, Malvern. WR14 1TL. There will be a private family cremation in the week before.
