'Giving for Life’ the Church of England’s new stewardship scheme is front page news in June.  Bishop David calls us all to BigLittle Church and a general call goes out to those who might be interested in joining the General Synod.  The Diocesan Environmental Strategy is unveiled along with lots of things to see and do in June.
   
 

May 2010

Sing up for Peru this month and buy a CD to help schools in our companion link!  Also read about the exciting concert coming up in Worcester Cathedral – a real show stopper of talented musicians past and present, all returning to Worcester for a fundraising concert.  Read how the whole bible was read out loud in Bromsgrove and the  Bishop’s 2020 Vision.  Lots of events to chose from now that Spring is here too!

April’s Diocesan News is full of spring events to get involved with, and Bishop David talks about the spring green shoots of hope.  Hasbury Primary School celebrates its life as a wonderful church school, and Brockmoor Church their new lighting scheme and we look at the 3rd of the new priorities of the diocese, that of the Deepening of Prayer.

February 2010

February tells of the Stourbridge Foodbank, helping to feed the most needy in our diocese.  Doug Chaplin writes about putting life into worship and Bishop David about God’s timetable.  Meet the Diocesan Training team and some of the young people in our diocese who have been given some fantastic handouts to keep their inspiring projects on the road.  Keep an eye out for the Child Protection Training programme and all the other events going on this month.
   
 

December 2009/January 2010

This month’s Diocesan News is full of festive events, including an invitation to lunch at the Old Palace.  We follow Margaret Rutter to Peru and find out what has been going on in Authorised Lay Ministry.  Read what it takes to be a treasurer and Bishop John sets out his vision for work in the diocese.
   
 

November 2009

Andrew Mottram has joined the team at the Old Palace, and he is ready to help parishes who have to care for historic buildings.  Pray for the new Diocesan Synod, which meets for the first time this month; Streetpastors from Stourbridge tell their story – an inspiring read.  Events all over the diocese are listed in the back pages and Bishop David writes about the ‘Ladies who came in from the Cold.’

July/August 2009

This double edition focuses on weddings, telling of people’s real life experience in the Church of England and recapping on some of the changes that have been made to the rules on getting married.  Bring me Sunshine tells of an event organised to address mental health issues, and Bishop John talks about the ‘Faith of our Forebears’.  There are loads of summer events to visit and lots going on around the Diocese, many are featured in the What’s On? Make Mother's Day special this year, by giving yours and someone else's mother a treat with the help of the Mother's Union.  Read about the exciting new building going on at St Andrew's Malvern, because they can't accomodate all the children they have!  The Archdeacon of Worcester writes about a 'mission shaped church' and the Bishop about prayer.  There are lots of things going on around the diocese and many of them are listed in the back pages of the publication.

This edition of the Diocesan News covers December and January listing many festive events and encouraging us all to think about the environmental impact that Christmas has on the world.  There is also an article about finances which are headlining everywhere and can be a big problem at Christmas time.  An interview with Dr Denise Inge, gives you a chance to learn a bit more about the Bishop’s wife, and he writes about ‘True Security.’
